Executive Director for Program, Policy & Strategy, Family and Child Health Administration

Overview

The Division of Family and Child Health (DFCH) of the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene oversees programs, policies, and services supporting physical and socio-emotional health, health equity, and social justice for NYC families and children. The division includes the Bureau of Maternal Infant and Reproductive Health, the Bureau of Early Intervention, the Office of School Health, and the Bureau of Administration. We seek qualified applicants committed to social justice, especially racial, gender, and LGBTQ equity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Deputy Commissioner in developing engagement strategies, policies, operational and fiscal efficiencies, and strategic planning.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the division's strategic plan and organizational changes.
  • Supervise staff within the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, managing internal processes and communications.
  • Develop pathways for the Deputy Commissioner to serve as a city-wide public health strategist for child and family health.
  • Coordinate with city offices, community organizations, and stakeholders to meet division and agency needs.
  • Prepare budget briefing materials for city oversight hearings.
  • Lead special projects and provide leadership in planning, troubleshooting, and program evaluation.
  • Represent the division in internal and external meetings as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field and two years of professional experience, including supervisory experience, or
  • Baccalaureate degree and four years of relevant professional experience, including supervisory experience.
