Job description

Job Summary: The Executive Director of Financial and Support Services leads the Financial and Support Services Department. This department processes contributions to the HACC Foundation, coordinates HACC Foundation emergency assistance funding for students, coordinates HACC Foundation scholarships and other tuition-related funding for HACC students, manages the donor management system (Raiser's Edge) for the HACC Foundation and coordinates the annual financial audits for the HACC Foundation. The executive director evaluates, recommends and ensures good internal processes are in place and being followed; ensures compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations; and ensures compliance with HACC and HACC Foundation policies and procedures. The executive director supervises, mentors and provides technical assistance to full-time and part-time employees and provides overall department backup and support as needed.


Minimum Qualifications:


Bachelor's Degree and 5 years experience, including 2 years supervisory/management experience.*

*Or a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

  • Leads the Financial and Support Services Department. - (Essential)

  • Oversees the processing of contributions to the HACC Foundation, the coordination of HACC Foundation emergency assistance funding for students, the coordination of HACC Foundation scholarships and other tuition-related funding for HACC students, the management of the donor management system (Raiser's Edge) for the HACC Foundation and the coordination of the annual financial audits for the HACC Foundation - (Essential)

  • Provides leadership, guidance and supervision for employees. Supervises, mentors and provides technical assistance to full-time and part-time employees and provides overall department backup and support as needed. - (Essential)

  • Reviews and improves the effectiveness and efficiency of the functions in the department. Develops operational procedures and documentation of data flow, development of system controls to ensure data integrity. Stays abreast of changes in legislation and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and nonprofit pronouncements. Coordinates the activities of the team to address these changes and meet the business needs of the College and HACC Foundation. - (Essential)

  • Maintains appropriate controls, troubleshoots problems and coordinates solutions for meeting new needs. Develops, implements, tests and trains on new and revised system updates and creates reports to improve process effectiveness and efficiencies. - (Essential)

  • Reviews and approves work products before they leave the department, including transactions and adjustments. Coordinates with the appropriate HACC colleagues to ensure accuracy and the appropriate reconciliation of records. - (Essential)

  • Learns and regularly covers duties related to all of the functions in the department. Serves as the primary backup for every function in the department during employees' short-term and long-term absences. - (Essential)

  • Administers multiple generic email accounts and replies to inquiries from HACC colleagues and students. - (Essential)

  • Contributes to the overall success of the Office of Finance and Office of College Advancement by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. - (Essential)

Work Arrangement:



  • Work from home approximately 90% of the time

  • Work from any of HACC's five campuses approximately 10% of the time
