Mercy Hospital St. Louis is seeking an Executive Director - Finance to lead the preparation and analysis of financial results, monitor performance, and manage forecasting.

This role oversees day-to-day finance operations, internal controls, and reporting for the hospital system. The Executive Director provides analytical support to administration, develops tools and reports, and interprets data for all levels of operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Minimum of five years accounting or financial management experience.
• CPA licensure preferred.

The Executive Director Finance has a direct reporting relationship with the Vice President of Finance and is responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial results for Mercy. This includes financial analysis, monitoring organizational performance, benchmarking functional/service line operations and managing the forecasting process. Also manages the day-to-day processes within the Finance department to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of all reports, including processes to monitor and improve internal controls. The Executive Director provides analysis and support to administration, develops analytical tools and reports for departments and interprets data for all levels of the Community's operations. The Executive Director has local oversight for patient access functions within the hospital setting, including the admitting functions and patient scheduling. Executive Director is responsible for recommending process improvement strategies and work simplification to ensure coordination and eliminate unnecessary or duplication of efforts within the areas of responsibility. Must be able to work well with other finance professionals, administrative leaders and Mercy Shared Services. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Education

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Requires a minimum of five years accounting or financial management experience or a level of practical experience necessary to enable efficient achievement of job requirements with a minimum level of day-to-day supervision.
