SMBC is seeking an Executive Director-level Lead Enterprise Data Layer Engineer in New York, NY, within a hybrid work model. You will define canonical data models, data standards, and integration governance to connect 100+ systems across Front Office, Risk, Finance, and Operations.

Ideal candidates bring 15+ years in enterprise/data architecture and 10+ years in capital markets, with strong leadership and expertise in ISDA CDM, Kafka, Java, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in enterprise/data architecture or integration engineering.
• 10+ years in capital markets or investment banking.
• Proven leadership of large-scale transformation programs.
• Experience defining enterprise-wide data models and integration standards.
• Deep understanding of Front-to-Back trade lifecycles across asset classes.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise data layer engineering for Front-to-Back program.
• Define enterprise data model, standards, and connectivity patterns.
• Own data strategy, event taxonomy, and integration governance.
• Ensure scalable, reusable, and consistent data exchange.
• Oversee Kafka, event contracts, schema governance, and DLQ strategies.
