Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with backend and data engineering focus.
• 4+ years in engineering leadership roles managing managers and multiple teams.
• Proven ability to build and scale high-performing engineering organizations.
• Experience leading complex technical programs across teams with delivery accountability.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js; design of data APIs and microservices.
• Strong knowledge of SQL/NoSQL (PostgreSQL, Snowflake, DynamoDB) and cloud platforms (AWS).
• Experience with modern engineering tooling and CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes; serverless concepts.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and operational leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery and outcomes across multiple engineering teams aligned to business priorities.
• Lead and develop engineering managers to grow their teams and impact.
• Build a high-performing organization with clear accountability and rhythms.
• Partner with product, architecture, data, security, and business stakeholders to shape strategy and roadmaps.
• Oversee design, development, and operation of backend data services, APIs, pipelines, and data products.
• Drive architectural decisions ensuring solutions meet enterprise standards and long-term needs.
• Establish and improve engineering processes for planning, estimation, execution, and release delivery.
• Communicate portfolio health, risks, milestones, and outcomes to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Promote modern software development practices, quality, test automation, observability, and reliability.
• Ensure production reliability with monitoring, logging, alerts, and incident response.
• Ensure data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory compliance across systems.
