Job summary

Lynchburg Beacon of Hope is seeking an Executive Director to guide the organization into its next growth chapter, ensuring mission impact and financial sustainability. The ED will lead programs, staff, fundraising efforts, and stakeholder engagement across the Lynchburg region and beyond, aligned with the FY27–FY31 strategic plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business management, public management, nonprofit management, education, or a related field.
• Proven leadership experience in an educational or nonprofit organization, including staff supervision, fundraising, board relations, and program oversight.
• Demonstrated proficiency in college access and workforce development, or related programs.
• High emotional intelligence with ability to build relationships across stakeholders.
• Experience leading a diverse team and collaborating with students, families, educators, and officials.
• Familiarity with donor and financial management software and CRM systems.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Lead the organization strateg­ically and tactically, report to the Board, oversee programs and staff.
• Drive comprehensive fundraising, grants, sponsorships, events, endowment, and annual giving.
• Oversee financial operations, budgeting, IRS Form 990 support, and audits.
• Strengthen governance and board relations; manage communications and volunteer engagement.
• Represent LBOH publicly to communities, funders, and partners; ensure program fidelity and outcomes.
