Job summary

Foundation For The Carolinas seeks an Executive Director to lead the Greater Steps Scholars Scholarship Fund, expanding educational access and mobility. The role crowns the program’s development leadership, donor engagement, and stewardship of scholarship resources.

The ED will build partnerships with donors, corporate sponsors, higher education institutions, and community leaders, ensuring mission-aligned experiences for scholars and strong governance with the advisory board.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Demonstrated success raising significant philanthropic revenue.
• Knowledge of charitable giving and donor stewardship.
• Experience managing fundraising events.
• Experience working with advisory boards.
• Ability to work with donors, Inlivian families, educational partners, FFTC staff, and volunteer boards.
• Excellent computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement fundraising strategies and donor cultivation plans.
• Lead major donor solicitations and sponsorship efforts.
• Oversee governance, advisory boards, and committee relations.
• Manage scholarship program leadership and partnerships.
• Represent the organization at community events and with educational partners.
• Monitor fundraising outcomes and report to the board.
