Job summary

Wyandot County is seeking an Executive Director to lead both the Office of Economic Development (WCOED) and the Regional Planning Commission (WCRPC). This full-time, in-person role oversees strategy, operations, budgets, grants, and partnerships with local governments, businesses and state partners.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3+ years in economic or regional planning, public speaking and project management; AICP/CEcD or OhioCED certification is preferred

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, economic development, planning or related field.
• 3+ years in economic, business or community development, regional planning or related field.
• Public speaking, community engagement, project management or grants experience.
• AICP, CEcD or OhioCED certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Set strategic direction and manage day-to-day operations for WCOED and WCRPC.
• Lead business retention, expansion, attraction and investment countywide.
• Serve as the go-to contact for businesses, developers, investors and property owners.
• Pursue grants, incentives and other funding for economic and community development.
• Build partnerships with local, regional, state and federal economic development organizations.
• Represent Wyandot County at business, civic and professional events.
• Provide planning assistance to local governments and the Regional Planning Commission.
• Administer the county’s Subdivision Regulations and Flood Damage Prevention Regulations.
• Review development applications and advise officials, developers and the public.
• Manage work programs, budgets, grants and contracts.
• Prepare reports and presentations for boards, commissions and community stakeholders.
