Job summary

The University of Houston System seeks a senior leader to oversee the Institute of Ecological Resiliency (IER) and the UH Coastal Center, guiding planning, implementation, and administration across HR, finance, IT, quality, outcomes, and programs.

Qualifications

  • Requires a formal, job-related 4-year degree; master's degree preferred.
  • Seven+ years of directly job-related experience; nonprofit/government/environment background preferred.
  • Experience leading large, complex programs and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership and oversight for the Institute of Ecological Resiliency and UH Coastal Center.
  • Oversee budgeting, finance, HR, IT, quality and programs.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives and business development.
  • Lead fundraising efforts in collaboration with Advancement and leadership.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with federal/state officials, philanthropy and community groups.
  • Represent the IER at national/regional conferences.
  • Coordinate recruitment and support of an Advisory Council.
  • Stay informed on policy directions and translate into practice.
  • Foster relationships with regional, state, and national groups.
  • Collaborate with Marketing/Communications for external representation.
  • Perform other duties as required.
