Job summary

Cotuit Library in Barnstable seeks an Executive Director to lead the organization as CEO, setting strategy, building partnerships, and stewarding staff and donor relationships. The ED will work with the Board to advance the library’s mission and ensure professional operations and growth.

The ideal candidate has nonprofit leadership experience, strong financial acumen, and a track record of building external relationships to support library services and community impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and master's degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or library science.
• Four years of library admin supervisory experience or equivalent top-level supervisory responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Board Governance: lead the library per Board directives and report to the Board with timely information.
• Fundraising: oversee fundraising efforts and cultivate donor relationships and grants.
• Financial Performance and Viability: manage budgets, financial statements, and legal compliance.
• Organization Mission and Strategy: lead strategic planning and community engagement to advance the library’s mission.
• Organization Operations: hire and supervise staff, oversee operations and communications.

Education

Bachelor's degree and master’s degree, or other advanced degree, in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration or Library Science
