Job summary

Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC) seeks a Director of Corporate Communications to lead the corporate communications function and advise the organization's senior leaders. This hands-on role drives enterprise strategy, executive messaging, employee communications, and crisis readiness while strengthening stakeholder trust and protecting GSOC's reputation.

The Director will establish standards, cadence, and a service model, partnering with HR, Operations, IT, and Finance to ensure

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years in corporate communications, executive communications, or related fields.
• Experience advising senior executives and developing executive-level communications.
• Proven ability to lead communications strategies for change, crisis, and major initiatives.
• Strong writing, editing, and plain-language communication skills.
• Experience coaching and developing a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

• Set the annual corporate communications strategy, priorities, and operating cadence.
• Serve as strategic advisor to the CEO and senior leaders; craft executive messages and town halls.
• Oversee employee communications, change communications, and merger/acquisition or policy communications as needed.
• Lead crisis and incident readiness, messaging templates, approvals, and escalation.
• Manage external communications to Board, member-owners, and key stakeholders.
• Direct budget, contractors, and agency partners; measure communication impact.
