Job summary

Rappahannock CASA seeks an Executive Director to lead administration, fundraising and child advocacy in the Fredericksburg, Virginia region. This is a mission-driven, full-time role working with a small dedicated staff and volunteers to ensure vulnerable children receive services and stable, permanent homes.

You will build relationships with donors and community partners, secure resources, and ensure financial sustainability while maintaining compliance with National CASA standards.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience with a volunteer, non-profit or public service agency.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of college and 4+ years fundraising/leadership experience.
• Genuine passion for ensuring children grow up in safe, loving homes.
• Strong financial management, grant writing, fundraising and PR/people skills.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with basic office technology and social media platforms.
• Ability to handle highly sensitive court and casework information confidentially.

Responsibilities

• Lead fundraising initiatives and donor cultivation across individuals, corporations and foundations.
• Identify, prepare and submit grant proposals with timely reporting.
• Oversee campaigns and collaborate with committees to maximize outcomes.
• Set measurable objectives for revenue growth, donor engagement and visibility.
• Serve as spokesperson and manage CASA's communication with media and the public.
• Ensure staff direction, program oversight and compliance with National CASA standards.
• Work with the Board to prepare budgets and provide regular status reports.
