Job summary

State of Minnesota seeks an Executive Director for the Cannabis Expungement Board to lead staff, set priorities, and ensure compliant, high-quality case review and governance. The role reports to the Board and oversees operations, external relations, and accountability to the public and Legislature.

The position requires strong leadership, knowledge of expungement law, and experience managing budgets, contracts, and interagency collaboration.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of progressively responsible professional experience in law, criminal justice, or public administration.
• Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to supervise and develop staff.
• Knowledge of expungement law and the criminal justice system.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and develop Cannabis Expungement Board staff; set priorities and promote a healthy workplace culture.
• Manage the agency budget, contracts, HR, and administrative operations in compliance with state law.
• Build internal systems and data infrastructure for case review at volume with quality.
