Job description

Campus is a technology-driven company dedicated to accelerating the talent of tomorrow. We empower students to find their purpose, help them build a plan and support them as they achieve their goals through affordable, world-class education provided by professors from prestigious institutions such as Princeton, NYU, UCLA, and Spelman. By making education more accessible and customized to each individual's needs, we can achieve our mission of accelerating the talent of tomorrow, one student at a time.

About Campus

Campus is on a mission to accelerate the talent of tomorrow. We believe students should have access to a world-class education without having to take on debt. We power online two-year degree programs featuring live, online, interactive classes led by faculty from top-ranking schools in the country (think Princeton, NYU, UCLA, Spelman, and more) – all at community college costs.

We’re backed by an investor team that believes deeply in our vision for the future of education -- our investors include Sam Altman (OpenAI), Jason Citron (Discord), Peter Thiel (Founders Fund), Michael Bloomberg (Bloomberg Beta), Shaquille O’Neal and others who support our vision for the future of education in America.

About Campus.org

Campus.org is the nonprofit branch of Campus.edu, with a mission to remove the barriers college students face along pathways into purpose-driven lives by providing sustaining resources and perspective expanding experiences.

Campus.org strives to ensure that every student has access to the resources, knowledge, and opportunities needed to succeed academically and professionally. By emphasizing the 2+2 model, we aim to make quality higher education more affordable and attainable, helping students graduate debt-free and prepared for their dream careers.

About the Role

We are seeking an Executive Director to lead Campus.org’s vision and operations. This role requires a dynamic leader who is passionate about educational equity, skilled in strategic program design, and committed to building partnerships and funding sources to sustain and grow Campus.org’s impact.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Strategize & define goals: Define and execute Campus.org’s strategic goals to align with our mission and vision.
  • Manage innovative programs: Oversee the development and launch of programs that support the 2+2 model, transfer scholarships, experiential learning, and emergency support for students.
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships: Build and maintain relationships with funders, educational institutions, and other organizations.
  • Lead impactful fundraising efforts: Be at the forefront of our fundraising efforts, including developing partnerships with corporations, foundations, and private donors.
  • Serve as a compelling ambassador: Represent Campus.org’s mission publicly, including at conferences, events, and meetings with stakeholders.

We’re excited about you because…

  • You are passionate about making education accessible and equitable.
  • You have experience in building organizational infrastructure and culture from the ground up.
  • You understand how to effectively communicate with diverse audiences, from students and mentors to board members and funders.
  • You have experience working with and reporting to a board of directors, particularly in early-stage organizations, and effectively engaging the board in strategic decision-making, fundraising, and partnership opportunities.
  • You have expertise in fundraising, particularly with new organizations, including skills in major gifts, events, grants, and corporate partnerships.
  • You have proven leadership experience (5+ years) in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.
  • You are a strong strategic thinker and communicator, skilled at inspiring stakeholders and leading initiatives.
  • You are data-driven, results-oriented, and comfortable using metrics to improve program outcomes.
  • You have strong financial management skills, including budget oversight and resource allocation.
  • You have a bachelor’s degree (or higher).

Nice to Have:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience working in education-focused organizations, particularly around scholarships or transfer programs.
  • Familiarity with the 2+2 model of higher education and issues surrounding educational access.

What you’ll get:

A compensation package that includes a base salary ($100K - $130K) + equity grant.

  • Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.
  • Medical Insurance + free Dental and Vision Insurance.
  • 401(k) match.
  • “Take what you need” PTO + several paid holidays.
  • In-office lunches (did we mention, we’re dog friendly?).
  • Flexible working hours & a hybrid work schedule (Mon & Fri remote; Tues-Thurs in-office).
