Job summary

Lehigh University seeks a Senior Director of Facilities Operations to lead maintenance, operations, utilities, grounds, and the organizational structure across 165 buildings, 5 million gross square feet, and more than 1,600 acres in the Lehigh Valley.

This senior leader will supervise 48 staff, manage a $30M annual operations budget, oversee $9–$11M in deferred maintenance, guide procurement with university counsel, and drive energy efficiency, sustainability, and compliance for campus

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field required.
• Proven senior leadership experience in facilities or campus management.
• Experience managing capital projects and infrastructure programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for facilities maintenance, operations, utilities, and grounds.
• Supervise an department of 48 staff with a focus on professional growth.
• Forecast data-driven budget requests and manage a $30M operations budget.
• Lead deferred maintenance planning with $9M–$11M annual allocation.
• Manage procurement with university counsel and coordinate with vendors.
• Oversee multi-year capital plans for maintenance and infrastructure projects.
• Drive energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste reduction initiatives.
• Coordinate with PD+C and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance.
