Job summary

University of Maryland Global Campus seeks a Senior Director of Facilities Management to provide strategic leadership and oversight of all facilities functions. The role ensures safe, reliable, and well‑maintained campus environments, aligning capital renewal and service delivery with institutional priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management or closely related field.
• Minimum 8 years of facility management, capital projects, and operations; at least 4 years in leadership.
• Broad operations knowledge across facilities, utilities, custodial, and infrastructure.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Higher education experience preferred.
• Preferred licenses/certifications: GB98, PE, CEM, PMP.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for all Facilities operations and set departmental priorities.
• Establish accountability, supervisory effectiveness, and clear decision-making authority.
• Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
• Coordinate governance and service level performance with stakeholders.
• Manage operating and capital budgets; ensure financial stewardship.
• Lead asset management, preventive maintenance, and capital renewal planning.
