Job summary

MELE Associates, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented program support professional to coordinate congressional inquiries, manage NA-113 actions, and prepare high-quality briefing materials.

The role requires strong written and verbal communication, organizational skills, and experience with correspondence management. The position is full-time onsite in Washington, DC, offering benefits and opportunities to work with senior leaders across multiple federal programs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate responses to Congressional inquiries and reporting.
  • Prepare briefings, talking points, and background materials.
  • Track and manage NA-113 actions and intergovernmental programs.
  • Support GAO and IG audits with data calls and documentation.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving policy requirements and assist FOIA responses.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and technical staff on cross-cutting initiatives.
  • Schedule meetings and manage calendars for NA-113 leadership.
  • Draft and proofread emails and correspondence for leadership.
  • Assist with travel logistics for site visits and reviews.
  • Manage conference-room bookings and Teams setup.
  • Route inquiries to appropriate staff and maintain records.
  • Onboard users and initiate IT/service tickets as needed.

Job description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Coordinate responses to Congressional inquiries, taskers, and reporting requirements.
  • Support preparation of briefings, talking points, and background materials for engagements with external stakeholders.
  • Track and manage actions related to NA-113, intergovernmental, and public affairs activities.
  • Support NA-113’s responses to U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) and Inspector General (IG) audits, including data calls, documentation collection, and corrective action tracking.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving policy requirements and ensure alignment with NA-113 processes.
  • Support FOIA response activities by gathering, organizing, and preparing responsive materials.
  • Collaborate closely with NA-113 senior leaders, program managers, and technical experts to support cross cutting initiatives.
  • Assist with workflow management, task tracking, and internal coordination across NA-113.
  • Prepare high-quality written products, including memos, summaries, reports, and decision materials.
  • Schedule weekly, bi‑weekly, and monthly NA‑113 meetings.
  • Manage calendars for NA-113 Assistant Deputy Administrator and Deputy Assistant Deputy Administrator.
  • Take meeting minutes and action items.
  • Prepare correspondence, memos, and briefing materials.
  • Support travel logistics for lab visits, program reviews, and workshops.
  • Manage conference‑room reservations and Teams meeting setup.
  • Route inquiries and direct communications to correct staff.
  • Draft and proofread email communications on behalf of leadership.
  • Serve as first point of contact for visitors or external partners.
  • Manage office supplies, inventories, and procurement approvals.
  • Initiate service tickets, equipment requests, or IT support actions, including onboarding requests.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • College Bachelor of Arts degree with major or specialization in related field;
  • At least 3 years prior experience supporting congressional, non-government organization, or federal government programs;
  • Excellent written and oral communication;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Prior experience with correspondence management;
  • Knowledge of eDOCS;
  • Customer service oriented;
  • Hard worker that shows initiative;
  • Knowledge of all Microsoft Office tools and Adobe Acrobat;
  • Outstanding team player able to work with a diverse group of people stationed in different geographic locations;
  • Works well with short turnaround deadlines in fast paced office environment and is adaptable to changing priorities;
  • Familiarity with NNSA Management and Operations (M&O) model;
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience supporting high visibility front office or executive level operations.
  • Understanding of nuclear security enterprise missions, modernization programs, or federal oversight structures.
  • Master’s degree in political science, communications, economics, history, or English.
LOCATION:

This is a full-time onsite position in Washington, DC.

SALARY:

Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate’s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position. The salary range for this position is 140k-155k.
