Job description

V-Sum is a private community that brings together founders, operators, investors, technologists, and industry leaders to discuss emerging technologies and high-impact topics through curated events, interviews, and content. We\'ve met for 5 years - and no one pays for events. Everything is curated.

We are looking for our first Executive Director.

This is a highly autonomous role for someone who enjoys building relationships, organizing exceptional events, creating content, and helping a professional community thrive. You will be responsible for professionalizing and operating V-Sum on a day-to-day basis. You will be the primary operator responsible for ensuring things get done consistently and professionally. The V-Sum community is global, tight-nit, and full of people who help each other win. Your job is to help the community win.

What You\’ll Do
Community Development
  • Build relationships with members and prospective members
  • Conduct outreach to gather feedback and identify opportunities
  • Interview community members for spotlights, demos, and content
  • Help identify topics, speakers, and discussions that matter most to the community
  • Recruit members to participate as hosts, moderators, speakers, and contributors
Events
  • Plan and execute 6–8 V-Sum events annually
  • Support 6–8 partner or sponsored events annually
  • Coordinate venues, logistics, speakers, registration, communications, and attendee experience
  • Manage event budgets and vendor relationships
  • Ensure every event reflects the quality and standards of the V-Sum community
  • Validate and support ongoing media opportunities for our community members.
Content
  • Conduct interviews and moderate discussions
  • Coordinate recording and publication of content
  • Create or edit basic video and social media content, or quickly learn the tools required
  • Work with community members to identify valuable stories and educational content
Sponsorships
  • Support sponsor outreach and relationship management
  • Ensure sponsors receive agreed-upon visibility and recognition
  • Manage sponsor communications, invoicing, and fulfillment
  • Build long-term relationships with sponsors and partners
Operations
  • Own the annual operating budget
  • Maintain calendars, workflows, communications, and operational systems
  • Use modern software tools to keep the organization organized and running smoothly
  • Continuously improve processes and documentation

  • Sponsors renew because they receive value

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience organizing events, communities, programs, or professional networks. V-Sum events are virtual and we\'re even operating them for corporate clients now.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and follow-through
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort interviewing professionals and facilitating discussions
  • Experience with modern productivity, calendar, CRM, and collaboration tools
  • Experience with or willingness to quickly learn video editing tools
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
  • A genuine interest in connecting people and building professional communities
Compensation

Compensation will be competitive and based on experience. We are open to both full-time and part-time candidates and are prepared to offer benefits for the right person.
