Join to apply for the Executive Director role at Maryland Nonprofits
Pets on Wheels (PoW) is a Maryland-based nonprofit organization dedicated to improving lives through friendly therapy pet visits. Each year over 400 volunteer therapy pet teams visit nursing homes, hospitals, schools, libraries, Veterans facilities and special events to share love to lick stress and loneliness.
We are seeking a passionate, organized, and strategic Executive Director to lead the organization’s operations, programs, and outreach. This individual will serve as PoW’s primary leader, public representative, and strategic manager, ensuring that our mission is upheld across all areas of service—from volunteer engagement and partner coordination to fundraising and organizational growth.
This is a fully remote role with regular in-state travel required to support volunteers, facility partners, and community engagement initiatives. Candidates must live in Maryland and have high-speed internet available. Familiarity with therapy pet work is optimal.
