Job summary

StoryPoint Knoxville West is seeking an Executive Director to lead the community, shaping culture and ensuring an exceptional resident experience while maintaining financial health.

The role requires strong leadership, hospitality, and relationship-building with residents, families, and staff; responsibilities include operational oversight, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with sales and departments. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field.
  • Certification for Licensed Assisted Living or equivalent and understanding of federal/state laws.
  • Passion for leading and developing people and delivering excellent service to residents.
  • Exceptional hospitality and sensitivity to aging adults and families.
  • Ability to form meaningful relationships with residents, team members, and families.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; team player; proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive culture within the community.
  • Reinforce Common Beliefs through servant leadership in all interactions.
  • Regularly connect with residents to ensure Safety, Belonging, Something to Look Forward to, and Peace of Mind.
  • Oversee the financial health of the community.
  • Lead other functional leaders in the community.
  • Support hiring, training, performance management, and separations.
  • Build positive relationships with residents and families.
  • Support the sales process to convert prospective residents to actual residents.
  • Coordinate move-in process with departments to meet resident needs.
  • Conduct Resident Forums monthly.
  • Lead daily stand-ups to review concerns and address issues.
  • Support other functions for staffing needs.
  • Ensure 85% of concerns are solved at community level.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; participate in surveys.
  • Ensure safety protocols are completed; provide on-site emergency support.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • May attend Real Estate Class and obtain licensure; may support other functions.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as assigned.

Executive Director StoryPoint Knoxville West Position Summary

Required Experience for Executive Director
  • Bachelors degree in business Health Care Gerontology or equivalent experience
  • Fulfillment of any necessary state specific certification for Licensed Assisted Living or equivalent and an understanding of federal and state laws related to the operations of a Senior Assisted Living Community
  • Demonstrates passion for leading and developing people as well as promoting excellent service delivery to residents
  • Exceptional hospitality skills with knowledge of and special sensitivity to the needs of aging adults and their families
  • Dedication to helping others and making a difference in the lives of the people they encounter every day
  • Exceptional ability to form meaningful relationships with residents team members and families to increase satisfaction and grow census
  • Ability to work effectively and diplomatically with a variety of publics including employees residents families ownership groups community groups government agencies etc
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Primary Responsibilities for Job
  • Executive Director Drives culture within community
  • Responsible for reinforcing our Common Beliefs through communication and modeling expected servant leadership behaviors in all interactions with others
  • Regularly creates meaningful connections with all residents within the community ensuring our Residents have Safety Belonging Something to Look Forward to and Peace of Mind
  • Responsible for the overall financial health of the community
  • Leading other functional leaders in the community
  • Supports in hiring training performance management and separations when necessary
  • Establishes builds and maintains positive relationships with residents and families
  • Supports the sales process to convert prospective residents into actual residents and builds strong relationship with sales partners
  • Responsible for the lease signings Move in Momentum including collaboration with various departments to ensure resident needs are met accordingly and assisting residentfamilies
  • Conducts Resident Forums on a monthly basis to listen to and respond to resident concerns
  • Leads daily stand ups to review concerns and address issues related to the Community
  • Supports for other functional leaders for meetings involving resident care
  • Partners with Functional Leaders to ensure that 85 of community concerns are solved at the community level
  • Ensures ongoing compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements
  • Ensures adequate preparation for and participate in regulatory compliance survey
  • Responsible for ensuring all safety protocols are completed in a timely manner
  • Ability to provide on site emergency support at the Community when necessary
  • Some travel may be required
  • May be required to attend Real Estate Class and obtain licensure 6 months to begin process
  • May be required to provide support to other functions within the department to ensure staffing needs are met
  • Performs other similar or related duties as assigned or necessary
General Working Conditions
  • This position entails standing for long periods of time
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to communicate effectively with others sit stand walk and use hands to handle keyboard telephone paper files and other equipment and objects
  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms
  • This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens
  • The employee will occasionally lift andor move up to 25 pounds
  • The work environment requires appropriate interaction with others
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate
  • Occasional travel to different locations may be required
