Job summary

The Goddard School at 10220 Old Columbia Road, STE A Columbia, MD 21046 is seeking an Executive Director to oversee daily operations, lead a team of directors and educators, and uphold brand and licensing standards.

You will implement the Wonder of Learning curriculum, build relationships with families and the community, manage enrollment and staff development, and foster a caring culture for children and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience teaching in early childhood education and 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of child development and early learning best practices; proven team leadership.
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Must pass required state background checks and meet state education/experience requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations while upholding brand, regulatory and policy standards.
• Hire, train, supervise and support staff to build a positive, collaborative team.
• Deliver the Wonder of Learning program to spark curiosity and support growth.
• Engage families and the community to promote the school.
• Manage budget, enrollment and resources for operational success.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and prepared environment for children and staff.

We’re seeking a passionate and proactive leader to oversee daily operations, support a team of dedicated directors and educators and ensure a high-quality learning environment for children and families. As Executive Director, you’ll uphold brand and licensing standards, lead the front office team of directors, overseeing staff development, implementation our Wonder of Learning® proprietary curriculum, and build strong school-family-community relationships. Your responsibilities will include maintaining enrollment, training new staff, and building a loving, caring, and extraordinary culture for families and staff.

Director Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Administration: Lead daily operations while upholding brand, regulatory and policy standards
• Staff Management: Hire, train, supervise and support staff to build a positive, collaborative team
• Curriculum and Program Development: Deliver our proprietary Wonder of Learning® program*, designed to spark curiosity, support individual growth and inspire a lifelong love of learning
• Family and Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with families and promote the School in the community
• Financial Management: Manage the budget, enrollment and resources for operational success
• Health and Safety: Maintain a safe, clean and prepared environment for children, staff and visitors
