Executive Director – Skilled Nursing / Long-Term Care

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 annually, based on experience

A well-established healthcare organization is seeking an experienced and motivated Executive Director to provide leadership and operational oversight for a skilled nursing/long-term care setting.

This is a confidential search for a hands-on leader who understands healthcare operations, employee engagement, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and the importance of providing exceptional care and service to residents and their families.

Position Overview

The Executive Director will be responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and day-to-day operations of the organization. The successful candidate will work closely with clinical and administrative leadership to maintain high standards of care, strengthen employee performance and retention, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the organization's financial and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for facility operations

  • Promote a culture focused on quality care, accountability, teamwork, and resident satisfaction

  • Oversee department leaders and support effective communication across clinical and administrative teams

  • Monitor staffing, recruitment, retention, and employee engagement

  • Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local healthcare regulations

  • Partner with clinical leadership on quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives

  • Monitor budgets, expenses, census, operational performance, and key performance indicators

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service delivery, and organizational performance

  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, employees, referral partners, and the surrounding community

  • Address operational challenges proactively and implement sustainable solutions

  • Ensure organizational policies, procedures, and standards are consistently followed

Qualifications
  • Previous leadership experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, senior care, healthcare, or a related environment strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated experience managing employees and multidisciplinary teams

  • Strong understanding of healthcare operations, compliance, quality, and customer service

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Proven ability to develop teams, improve performance, and hold leaders accountable

  • Financial and operational management experience preferred

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent relevant leadership experience will be considered

  • Applicable healthcare administrator licensure preferred or required where appropriate

Compensation

$80,000–$100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
