Conservation Voters for Idaho is looking for an accomplished, collaborative, and mission-driven leader to serve as its next Executive Director.
CVI protects Idaho's environment and quality of life by informing, engaging, and empowering people that care about our natural heritage and healthy communities. Through CVI, CVIEF, and affiliated political action committees, the organization works to build political power for conservation and advance priorities that protect what makes Idaho special.

CVI is looking for an Executive Director who knows that strong results start with strong people leadership and who can pair that with successful fundraising, strategic thinking, coalition-building, and political judgment.
The Executive Director will lead CVI, CVIEF, and affiliated political action committees, working in partnership with the appropriate Boards of Directors, senior leaders, staff, donors, funders, partners, and supporters to move the organizations' missions forward.
CVI's next Executive Director will be a proven organizational leader who builds trust, develops people, and creates the conditions for employees to do their best work.
They will be collaborative, emotionally intelligent, adaptable, and approachable, while also being comfortable setting clear expectations, addressing difficult issues, making decisions, and holding people accountable.
They will also be a strong relationship-builder who is comfortable moving between conversations with staff, donors, funders, Board members, conservation partners, community leaders, elected officials, candidates, and other stakeholders.
CVI operates in a complex political environment. The next Executive Director does not need to have spent their entire career in Idaho or in the conservation movement, but they do need the political judgment, relationship skills, and strategic thinking to build alliances and move conservation priorities forward.
Strong candidates will have senior or executive leadership experience in a nonprofit, mission-driven, public-sector, or similarly complex organization, along with a track record of leading and developing staff.
They should also bring experience building trusted relationships, raising funds and developing resources, thinking strategically, communicating clearly, and making sound decisions, including when the issues are difficult.
Experience with nonprofit executive leadership, Boards of Directors, coalition-building, advocacy or electoral work, public policy, and environmental or conservation issues is highly valued. Familiarity with Idaho's political, nonprofit, conservation, or advocacy landscape is preferred.
CVI is also looking for a leader who demonstrates cultural competency and a commitment to racial equity, justice, and inclusive organizational practices.
The salary range for the Executive Director is $110,000-$120,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

CVI uses a hybrid work model, and the Executive Director is based in Boise, Idaho.
This role requires flexibility outside standard business hours. Periodic evening and weekend work should be expected for Board and organizational meetings, fundraising and community events, legislative and political activities, campaigns, and other mission-related priorities.
