VP, Executive Creative Director (Richmond, VA or REMOTE)
Our client, an integrated Creative Agency with offices in Richmond, VA, is looking to add to staff an experienced Vice President, Executive Creative Director (ECD) starting ASAP. This role can be FULLY REMOTE (depending on location of candidate), so candidates from all Central and Eastern U.S. locations will be considered. In this role, you will be the lead creative partner for a flagship account, championing bold, insight-led ideas that generate meaningful business impact. This leader defines the benchmark for creativity, innovation, and collaboration—while cultivating a trusted, strategic partnership with senior client leaders. At least 7 years of creative leadership, primarily in an agency setting is REQUIRED.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and own the creative vision and output for the flagship account across all platforms and campaigns.
- Collaborate with senior client executives to develop strategic, innovative creative solutions that drive measurable business growth.
- Serve as a trusted creative partner to client leadership, representing the agency in presentations and business reviews.
- Identify and pursue organic growth opportunities to expand the agency’s scope of work.
- Partner with account leadership to align creative strategies with client objectives, performance metrics, and business goals.
- Inspire, mentor, and develop a high-performing creative team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
- Oversee budgets, timelines, and resource planning to ensure operational efficiency and creative excellence.
- Support recruitment, retention, and growth of top creative talent to meet evolving client and agency needs.
- Actively participate in agency leadership initiatives, contributing insights from the flagship account to strengthen overall creative direction, processes, and operational excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 15+ years of creative experience, including 7–10 years leading large teams on high-profile, multi-channel campaigns.
- Bachelor’s degree in design, marketing, advertising, communications, or a related field.
- Proven success managing flagship accounts with multi-million-dollar budgets and complex creative scopes.
- Strong conceptual thinker with deep expertise across digital, social, experiential, and traditional media.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted, strategic relationships with executive-level clients.
- Exceptional leadership, mentorship, and communication skills with the ability to inspire and influence teams and clients alike.
- High-level business acumen and skill in aligning creative strategy with organizational goals.
- Expertise in brand and identity management on a national or global scale.
- Deep understanding of the creative development process from concept through execution.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives under tight timelines.
- Proficiency in integrating creative with emerging platforms, technologies, and data-driven insights.
