Job summary

Met Council seeks a COO to provide strategic and operational leadership across the organization, reporting to the CEO. You will align people, programs, operations, and resources to advance the mission and drive execution with integrity.

You will inherit a strong leadership team and steward growth while expanding the use of technology and AI to improve benefits access, referrals, and internal processes in a large, respected nonprofit.

Qualifications

• Executive with the ability to assess issues, exercise judgment, and drive execution across a complex, mission-driven org.
• Operational leadership of large multi-program environments with governance experience a plus.
• Strong people leadership: mentor senior leaders and build organizational capacity.
• Financial stewardship: budgeting, resource allocation, and program planning.
• Practical use of data, technology, and AI to improve operations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the CEO’s trusted advisor and translate strategy into action across the organization.
• Partner with the executive team to align priorities and enterprise-wide decision-making.
• Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing senior leadership team.
• Foster collaboration, trust, dignity, and accountability across staff and clients.
• Provide executive oversight to diverse human service programs with quality delivery.
• Advance Met Council’s leadership in deploying technology and AI to expand services.
