Job description

Position Summary

The Executive Client Partner is responsible for leading DataSpring’s most strategic and consequential client relationships, including marquee health plan and healthcare organization partners represented on DataSpring’s Board of Directors.

This role serves as the senior relationship owner across both executive decision-makers and operational leaders, ensuring DataSpring understands each partner’s strategic priorities, delivers measurable value and remains positioned as a trusted, long-term advisor. The Executive Client Partner will build and sustain relationships across the client enterprise, from C-suite and board-level stakeholders to operational, technical and functional leaders responsible for day-to-day execution.

The role is guided by four core principles: Protect, Influence, Innovate and Partner.

The Executive Client Partner will protect DataSpring’s most important relationships and revenue, influence strategic decisions and future direction, identify opportunities to innovate alongside clients and partner closely with DataSpring’s Executive Leadership Team and key cross-functional leaders to deliver a coordinated enterprise experience.

This individual will develop and execute comprehensive account strategies, strengthen executive alignment, drive value realization, anticipate risks and identify opportunities to expand the partnership across DataSpring’s portfolio. The role requires a highly credible healthcare leader who can navigate complex organizations, build influence at the highest levels and translate client priorities into coordinated action across DataSpring.

The Executive Client Partner is a full-time, remote, exempt position and reports to the VP, Account Management.

This position will require the ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

Executive Relationship Leadership
  • Serve as the senior relationship owner for a select portfolio of DataSpring’s largest, most strategic and highest-profile partners.
  • Build trusted relationships with board members, C-suite executives, senior decision-makers and operational leaders across assigned client organizations.
  • Develop a deep understanding of each client’s enterprise strategy, business objectives, operating environment, stakeholder dynamics and future priorities.
  • Establish and maintain multilevel relationship maps that ensure strong connections across executive, operational, technical, financial and procurement stakeholders.
  • Create a consistent and intentional executive engagement strategy, including executive sponsorship, strategic planning sessions, executive business reviews and ongoing leadership communication.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor who brings perspective, insight and recommendations beyond routine account management.
Protect Strategic Partnerships
  • Maintain accountability for the health, retention and long-term strength of DataSpring’s most important client relationships.
  • Anticipate relationship, performance, operational, financial and reputational risks before they affect the partnership.
  • Develop and lead comprehensive risk-mitigation and executive intervention plans.
  • Ensure emerging concerns are elevated with the appropriate context, recommended actions and clearly defined ownership.
  • Protect client trust by ensuring commitments are understood, coordinated and fulfilled across DataSpring.
  • Lead sensitive client discussions and escalations with sound judgment, executive presence and a solution-oriented approach.
  • Partner with DataSpring leadership to ensure marquee clients receive a consistent, proactive and differentiated experience.
Influence and Strategic Alignment
  • Translate client strategies, market pressures and leadership priorities into actionable implications for DataSpring.
  • Influence internal priorities by representing the voice of strategic clients across the Executive Leadership Team, Product, Sales, Operations, Marketing, Technology and other key functions.
  • Provide client and market intelligence that informs product strategy, operating priorities, investment decisions and go-to-market planning.
  • Shape executive conversations around client value, strategic direction, industry change and the future of the partnership.
  • Build alignment among client executives, operational stakeholders and DataSpring leaders around shared priorities and desired outcomes.
  • Help clients understand and prepare for DataSpring’s strategic initiatives, platform evolution and future-state capabilities.
Innovation and Partnership Expansion
  • Identify opportunities to innovate with clients through new solutions, expanded use cases, strategic pilots and collaborative initiatives.
  • Develop a clear understanding of client whitespace, unmet needs and future priorities.
  • Connect DataSpring’s broader portfolio and capabilities to client objectives in ways that create measurable enterprise value.
  • Partner with Sales and commercial leaders to develop and advance qualified growth and expansion opportunities.
  • Support strategic commercial discussions, renewal planning and complex negotiations in partnership with Sales, Finance, Legal and executive leadership.
  • Facilitate client participation in advisory groups, innovation forums, market-shaping discussions and other strategic initiatives.
  • Position DataSpring as a proactive partner in solving complex healthcare administrative and data challenges.
Strategic Account Planning and Value Realization
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive, multiyear strategic account plans for each assigned partner.
  • Define clear relationship, adoption, value, retention, innovation and growth objectives.
  • Establish measurable success outcomes and ensure DataSpring can demonstrate the value delivered through its solutions and partnership.
  • Lead executive business reviews that connect performance, insights and opportunities to the client’s strategic priorities.
  • Monitor account health across relationship strength, engagement, solution adoption, operational performance, support experience, financial position and future opportunity.
  • Translate account data, client feedback and industry trends into clear recommendations and executive action plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely strategic account information in Salesforce and other designated systems.
Enterprise Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Partner closely with DataSpring’s Executive Leadership Team to establish and execute coordinated strategies for marquee client relationships.
  • Lead cross-functional account teams that may include Sales, Product, Operations, Technology, Implementation, Analytics, Finance, Legal and Communications.
  • Establish clear ownership, decision-making, timelines and accountability across complex client initiatives.
  • Ensure clients experience DataSpring as one coordinated organization rather than a collection of separate functions or products.
  • Mobilize the appropriate internal leaders and subject-matter experts based on client priorities, risks and opportunities.
  • Facilitate internal executive account reviews to assess relationship health, strategic priorities, commitments and next actions.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to Client Partnerships colleagues supporting the operational aspects of assigned accounts.

  • Share market, client and competitive insights that strengthen DataSpring’s enterprise strategy.
  • Represent DataSpring at client events, executive meetings, industry forums and other external engagements.
  • Support a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation and client-centered decision-making.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, public health or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Ten to fifteen years of progressive experience in strategic account management, client partnerships, customer success, consulting, healthcare leadership or another senior client-facing role.
  • Significant experience working with health plans, provider organizations, healthcare technology companies or healthcare administrative solutions is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex, high-value enterprise relationships with multiple products, stakeholders and business priorities.
  • Experience engaging and influencing board members, C-suite executives and senior operational decision-makers.
  • Strong executive presence and the ability to establish credibility as a trusted strategic advisor.
  • Demonstrated success protecting and expanding strategic client relationships, including retention, renewals, adoption, value realization and growth.
  • Experience developing and executing multiyear strategic account plans and executive-engagement strategies.
  • Ability to understand complex healthcare business challenges and connect them to data, technology and administrative solutions.
  • Strong commercial judgment, including experience identifying whitespace, shaping expansion opportunities and supporting complex commercial discussions.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify emerging risks, lead executive escalations and navigate sensitive or high-stakes client situations.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional teams and initiatives without direct authority.
  • Ability to influence internal executives and translate client priorities into organizational action.
  • Strong strategic thinking, business judgment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and facilitation skills, including the ability to lead board-level and executive-level discussions.
  • Ability to synthesize client, market, financial, product and operational information into clear insights and recommendations.
