Job summary

AVI Foodsystems is seeking an energetic Executive Chef to lead the Siena University kitchen in New York. You will craft unique menus, set culinary standards, oversee production and ensure exceptional quality and service. This role requires executive kitchen experience, strong leadership, and a passion for safety and sanitation.

You will recruit, train and retain a talented team while managing costs and maintaining high customer satisfaction in a busy university setting.

AVI Foodsystems is looking for an energetic and optimistic leader to immediately hire to fill the position of Executive Chef at Siena University.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Create unique and innovative menus
• Develop and implement culinary standards, guidelines and procedures
• Oversee all production of food
• Hire, orient and train team members to ensure that the highest standards of quality are met
• Create and manage production team member schedules
• Order food, kitchen supplies and equipment in accordance with company vendor policies
• Conduct regular physical inventory of food and non-food items
• Establish controls to minimize food and supply waste and theft
• Project annual food and labor costs and monitor actual financial results
• Plan and supervise special events
• Handle any food preparation issues (i.e. food shortages, excesses, outdated products, poor quality) by taking action to correct problems
