Job Description for Executive Chef

Join our team at Encanto, Los Feliz's newest wood fire Baja coastal kitchen, offering fresh ceviches, charred asada, and a vibrant atmosphere with cocktails and tequila selections. We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to oversee kitchen operations and uphold our standards of quality, consistency, and hospitality.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing kitchen operations and ensuring food quality and safety standards.
  • Leading and developing kitchen staff, conducting evaluations, and hiring as needed.
  • Maintaining safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
  • Developing systems for inventory, ordering, and cost control.
  • Participating in marketing and community engagement efforts.

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of leadership experience in a high-volume kitchen, preferably in fine dining or hotel environments.
  • Graduation from an accredited culinary school.
  • ServSafe certification.
  • Multilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to exert 50 pounds of force frequently.
  • Work in hot and cold environments while standing, walking, and sitting as needed.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 annually + 20% quarterly bonus.
