Job Summary:

The Executive Chef will lead daily kitchen operations, including recruiting, training, food preparation, menu development, and ensuring safety and sanitation standards. The role involves showcasing culinary talents, developing staff, and managing financial performance to meet budget goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead culinary production, ensuring quality, safety, and performance standards.
  2. Design and present decorative food displays.
  3. Develop menus with seasonal and local ingredients.
  4. Source fresh ingredients and monitor quality.
  5. Maintain consistency and food presentation standards.
  6. Research and incorporate resident preferences and local flavors.
  7. Prepare and cook a variety of foods, demonstrating techniques to staff.
  8. Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring safety and sanitation compliance.
  9. Manage purchasing, food storage, and inventory.

Financial & Business Management:

  1. Develop and manage budgets, controlling costs and maximizing profitability.
  2. Analyze operational data to adjust business plans.
  3. Oversee inventory and purchasing processes.
  4. Schedule staff based on forecasted needs.

Customer Service & Team Management:

  1. Create resident satisfaction through excellent service and staff training.
  2. Engage with residents and staff professionally.
  3. Handle guest feedback and complaints effectively.
  4. Lead team meetings and develop performance goals.
  5. Foster a positive, engaging work environment.

Qualifications:

  • A.S. degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive culinary management experience.
  • Extensive catering and high-volume foodservice experience preferred.
  • Hands-on chef experience required.
  • Knowledge of food trends, sanitation, and cost controls.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software.
  • ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
