Job Summary:

An inspirational and organized leader who ensures the success of daily kitchen operations, including recruiting, training, and food preparation. The Executive Chef will demonstrate culinary talents through the delivery of high-quality food, develop and empower onsite staff, and improve satisfaction for residents, employees, and clients. Responsibilities include managing budgets, food and labor costs, and adhering to safety and sanitation protocols.

Leading Culinary Operation:

  • Lead daily culinary production, monitor food quality, safety standards, team performance, and profitability.
  • Design food presentation and decorative displays.
  • Develop menus based on product availability, incorporating seasonal and local ingredients.
  • Source fresh ingredients, monitor produce and meat freshness, and ensure consistency.
  • Research customer preferences and create menus featuring local flavors.
  • Prepare and cook foods, demonstrate techniques, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with health standards.

Business & Financial Acumen:

  • Participate in strategic planning aligned with the community’s mission and values.
  • Manage departmental expenses, develop purchasing guidelines, analyze financial data, and control costs.
  • Oversee inventory, purchasing, and staffing schedules.

Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service:

  • Create resident satisfaction through team training and engagement.
  • Engage professionally with residents and staff, respond to feedback, and handle guest issues effectively.

Team Building and Management:

  • Lead team meetings, set performance and operational goals, and foster a positive work environment.
  • Provide ongoing training, coaching, and performance feedback.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A.S. degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of progressive culinary management experience, catering experience preferred.
  • Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations, institutional and batch cooking.
  • Hands-on chef experience, knowledge of food trends, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
