Job Summary:

The Executive Chef will lead daily kitchen operations, including recruiting, training, and food prep, while developing staff and ensuring customer satisfaction, safety, and financial goals are met.

Leading Culinary Operation:

  • Oversee meal preparation, food quality, safety standards, team performance, and profitability.
  • Design food presentation and decorative displays.
  • Develop menus based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
  • Source fresh ingredients, monitor produce and meat freshness.
  • Ensure consistency and quality of food products.
  • Research and incorporate local flavors into menus.
  • Prepare and cook a variety of foods, demonstrate techniques, supervise staff, and ensure safety compliance.

Business & Financial Skills:

  • Contribute to community business strategies aligned with mission and values.
  • Manage expenses, develop budgets, and analyze financial data to optimize costs and revenues.
  • Oversee inventory, purchasing, and food control.
  • Schedule staff based on forecasted needs.

Customer Service Excellence:

  • Create resident satisfaction through staff training and engagement.
  • Engage professionally with residents and staff, handle feedback, and foster a hospitality-focused environment.
  • Seek resident feedback for continuous improvement.

Team Management:

  • Lead team meetings, set goals, and foster engagement.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A.S. degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of progressive culinary management experience.
  • Extensive catering and high-volume foodservice experience preferred.
  • Hands-on chef experience required.
  • Knowledge of current food trends, sanitation, and cost controls.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and email.
  • ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
