Job Summary:

An organized leader who manages daily kitchen operations, including recruiting, training, and food prep. The Executive Chef demonstrates culinary talents, develops staff, and strives to improve satisfaction while meeting financial goals and safety standards.

Leading Culinary Operation:

  • Oversee food preparation, quality, safety, team performance, and profitability.
  • Create food displays, develop menus with seasonal ingredients, and source fresh produce and meats.
  • Ensure consistency, research customer preferences, prepare foods, and demonstrate techniques to staff.
  • Supervise staff, ensure safety and sanitation, and maintain standards in purchasing and storage.

Business & Financial Acumen:

  • Develop and execute business strategies aligned with the community’s mission.
  • Manage expenses, control costs, and analyze financial data to adjust plans.
  • Oversee inventory, purchasing, and staffing based on forecasted volumes.

Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service:

  • Create resident satisfaction through staff training and engagement.
  • Engage professionally with residents and staff, respond to feedback, and handle complaints effectively.

Team Building and Management:

  • Lead team meetings, set performance and other goals, and foster engagement.
  • Provide training, feedback, coaching, and ensure fair treatment of staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of progressive culinary management, catering experience preferred.
  • Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations; hands-on chef experience required.
  • Knowledge of food trends, sanitation, and cost controls; ServSafe certification desirable.
