Executive Chef 2 – Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, MA
Primary responsibilities include working AM shifts Monday‑Friday, with manager on duty every third weekend.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and effectively lead a team of up to 20 associates.
- Maintain chef/manager schedules; provide shift coverage when needed.
- Implement and standardize all culinary systems and procedures for the hospital.
- Create and standardize new menus; manage inventory to keep up with demand.
- Implement innovative and fresh ideas in retail, catering, and patient services.
- Be responsible for Food and Physical Safety and conduct annual training for all hourly associates.
- Conduct audits and develop action plans based on audit findings.
- Develop effective interpersonal relationships with clients and customers.

Qualifications
- Proven culinary background with knowledge of contemporary culinary trends.
- At least 3 years of food management experience focused on retail operations.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, maintaining the highest standards.
- Strong production culinary background, ideally in corporate, campus, catering, and/or upscale restaurant environments.
- Menu planning and inventory management experience.
- Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines; ServSafe certified preferred and working knowledge of HACCP.
Minimum Mandatory Requirements
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years of management experience.
- Minimum 2 years of functional experience in food or culinary services (e.g., restaurants, fast food, vending, catering, institutional services, mall food courts).
Location: US‑MA‑BOSTON. Employment status: Full‑time, Exempt. Posted range: $65,000 – $98,450.
