Base pay range

$90,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr

Now Hiring: Executive Chef – La Popular Hollywood

Purpose of the Position

The Executive Chef is the heart of our culinary operations—leading the kitchen with passion, vision, and skill. You will guide the team, innovate with the menu, manage operations, and set the tone for a kitchen that delivers excellence every single shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspire and lead a high-performing culinary team
• Ensure consistent, high-quality execution of all dishes
• Drive kitchen efficiency, food cost management, and labor controls
• Collaborate with leadership on strategy and budget
• Lead menu development with a focus on authentic Mexican cuisine and seasonal innovation
• Maintain compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards
• Build and sustain a positive, inclusive kitchen culture
• Source and maintain strong relationships with top-quality vendors
• Oversee inventory, ordering, and product quality control

Qualifications

• 5+ years as an Executive Chef in full-service, high-volume restaurants
• Deep knowledge of Mexican cuisine and modern culinary techniques
• Proven leadership and mentorship skills
• Solid understanding of kitchen financials (COGS, labor, budgeting)
• Valid Food Handler Certification (ServSafe or equivalent)
• Bilingual English/Spanish a strong plus
• Must be 18 years or older

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position requires prolonged standing, bending, lifting, and working in hot and fast-paced kitchen conditions. Candidates must be able to work around commercial cooking equipment and maintain stamina throughout long shifts.
