What We Look For In An Executive Chef
- We're looking for a seasoned culinary leader who combines a genuine passion for food with the business acumen to run a complex, high-volume kitchen.
- Proven Executive Chef experience in a high-volume ($8M+), upscale dining environment
- Strong financial fluency — food and labor cost management, P&L ownership, and inventory control
- Systems-driven with experience in food costing and inventory platforms (MarginEdge, CTUIT, or similar); proficient in Microsoft Suite
- Deep command of American cuisine with the creativity to build menus that excite guests and drive revenue
- A natural coach who sets high standards and develops people to meet them
- Calm under pressure, decisive in the moment, and solutions-oriented when it counts
- Excellent communicator — clear with your team, collaborative with FOH leadership
What You Will Do As An Executive Chef
- Own the kitchen — culinary quality, food and labor costs, staffing, scheduling, and daily operations
- Drive food and labor cost goals through disciplined ordering, inventory management, and waste control
- Build, train, and develop a high-performing kitchen team through hands‑on coaching and clear accountability
- Lead menu development and conduct regular menu classes to ensure consistent execution across all meal periods
- Maintain rigorous standards for food quality, portioning, temperature, and presentation
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations through regular facility inspections and proactive maintenance scheduling
- Manage timekeeping, write performance appraisals, and hold team members to operational goals
- Partner with restaurant leadership to align kitchen operations with the overall guest experience and business objectives
