Job Overview

We are seeking an Executive Director of Nichols Day Camp in Blue Hill and Sedgwick Maine. The ideal candidate will further the mission of BHSAC/NDC “to instill in our peninsula area youth a lifelong passion for outdoor recreational and educational experiences”, by planning and implementing day camp programming during the camp season. Executive, year-round functions include fundraising, program development, public relations, financial planning and revenue generation. The Director will work with the NDC Board of Trustees, counselors and the public to achieve the goals of camp.

Responsibilities
  • Non Profit Operational Management
  • Program development
  • Representing NDC in the public eye
  • Hiring, training and supervising camp counselors
  • Build relationships with donors and camp parents
  • Manage the physical facilities and equipment at NDC
  • Work with admin and the Board to develop and follow a yearly budget
  • Development and supervision of camp programming for ages 5-14
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Administration, Recreation, or Education)
  • 3 Years experience in Youth Camp or youth education setting
  • CPR & First Aid certifications
  • ability to train staff
  • computer literacy
  • Knowledge of youth development needs
  • must pass criminal background check prior to employment
Physical Aspects

Must be able to stand for prolonged periods, walk long distances, tolerate outdoor elements (heat, sun, rain, wind), handle outdoor sporting/boating equipment, lift up to 50lbs.
