Job summary

BlueSteps Connect is partnered with a university client in Austin, TX to recruit an Associate Vice President for Administration and Finance. This executive will lead financial strategy, oversee budgeting, accounting, reporting, cash management, investments and internal controls, while serving as primary liaison with external auditors and regulators.

The role requires a CPA (preferred), a BA/MA in Accounting or Finance and 5+ years of senior financial leadership, ideally in higher education, with

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
• Five or more years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience, preferably in higher education.
• Expertise in budgeting, audits, investments, compliance and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual university budget development process and provide strategic financial recommendations.
• Oversee accounting functions, financial reporting, cash management, investments, internal controls and audit preparation.
• Act as lead financial liaison for external auditors and regulatory/accrediting entities.
• Coordinate day-to-day business office operations and liaise between departmental leadership and Vice President, Finance.
• Maximize reimbursement opportunities, support timely drawdowns and maintain compliance.
• Analyze financial data to support executive decision-making and review contracts and vendor agreements.
