Job summary

Salt Lake Community College seeks an Associate Dean for the Performing Arts and Finance Division to lead curriculum development, faculty development, scheduling, and budgeting. The role involves working with administration, faculty, and external partners to advance program review and student success.

The position requires strategic vision, collaborative leadership, and a track record of managing complex academic programs while promoting diversity and accessibility across the campus.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field required.
• Evidence of three years of full-time successful teaching experience.
• Evidence of significant and productive participation in department level processes such as scheduling, program review, department test preparation and administration, curriculum development, student issues, and other department tasks.
• Demonstrated understanding of student learning outcomes assessment principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, support, and supervision for department or division faculty and staff.
• Must work in a team setting, be innovative, collaborative, and flexible, and manage the department or division in compliance with SLCC policies and direction.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong computer skills.
• Help the division faculty establish goals aligned with SLCC's mission and coordinate efforts to achieve them, including ethical use of AI technologies and ADA accessibility standards.
• Coordinate faculty and staff efforts to align with the college's mission and strategic plan.
• Address faculty, staff, and student issues in a positive manner and collaborate with other departments.
• Meet deadlines and promote diversity and inclusivity across the college.
