Job summary

UNIVERSITY of MISSOURI-KANSAS CITY, School of Dentistry, seeks an Associate Dean of Academic Affairs to lead educational outcomes, curricular development, and accreditation readiness. The role reports to the dean and represents the dean in their absence, guiding policy, program evaluation, and scholarly activity.

Ideal candidates will have DDS/DMD or equivalent with advanced degrees, and proven leadership in dental education, accreditation processes, and professional organizations.

Qualifications

• Interpersonal and communication skills demonstrated; collaborative management expertise.
• Strong leadership in dental education institutions or professional associations.
• Experience with accreditation processes and preparation.
• Advanced teaching experience and scholarly activity are expected for tenure-track eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Ensure excellence in the school's academic mission and outcomes.
• Lead development of educational goals, strategic plan, and evidence-based programming.
• Coordinate and implement accreditation expectations and policy development.
• Oversee curriculum development, faculty development, and program updates.
• Lead with the dean on external initiatives and school-wide communications.
