About This Position
William Carey International University (WCIU) is seeking a highly capable
Executive Assistant to the Provost to support the work of Academic
Affairs during a season of significant growth, innovation, and
This role goes beyond traditional administrative support. The Executive
Assistant will serve as a trusted partner to the Provost, helping
coordinate academic initiatives, faculty engagement, recruitment
processes, executive communications, and key projects that advance the
mission of the university.

What You Will Own
Executive Partnership
- Protect and steward the Provost's time, attention, and priorities so she can lead at the level the institution needs
- Anticipate needs, close gaps, and move work forward without waiting to be directed
- Prepare briefings, correspondence, and decision-support materials that are clear, accurate, and ready to act on
- Track commitments and action items across initiatives so nothing important is lost between conversations
Strategic and Academic Coordination
- Conduct research and synthesize information that informs academic planning, faculty decisions, and institutional strategy
- Support the advancement of key initiatives through disciplined organization, documentation, and follow-through
- Contribute to process improvement efforts that strengthen how Academic Affairs operates
- Serve as a steady, reliable point of coordination across faculty,staff, leadership, and external partners
Faculty and Operational Support
- Manage faculty-related administrative processes including adjunctagreements, curriculum contracts, and onboarding coordination
- Support recruitment processes with professionalism and care, fromcandidate communication through hiring coordination
- Handle sensitive academic and organizational matters with discretion, integrity, and sound judgment
- Ensure the day-to-day operations of the Provost's office run withexcellence and without friction
Institutional Engagement
- Lead logistics for executive meetings, academic forums, leadership retreats, and institutional events
- Manage details across travel coordination, virtual platforms,stakeholder communications, and meeting preparation
- Represent the Office of the Provost with professionalism in everyinteraction

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- Experience supporting senior leaders, executives, or organizationalleadership teams

- Sound judgment and integrity in handling confidential information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, virtual collaboration tools, andadministrative systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education, ministry, missions, nonprofit, or another mission-driven environment
- Experience supporting academic operations, faculty administration,or institutional initiatives
- Experience coordinating recruitment, onboarding, contracts, orproject workflows
- Familiarity with governance, accreditation, curriculum processes, oracademic planning
- Experience supporting a growing organization or an entrepreneurialleader
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Work at a desk in an office or home-office setting; sit at an office desk for extended periods of time
- Work for extended periods of time at a computer, requiring the ability to send and receive information with necessary optical, auditory, and manual dexterity
- Use a keyboard and mouse to enter, retrieve, or transfer words or data information and/or move from screen to screen on the computer to view information
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; comprehend and speak English
- Display the reading skills necessary to proofread written material
- Ability to participate in virtual meetings and University events
