Job description

Madrigal is a biopharmaceutical company focused on delivering novel therapeutics for metabolic dysfunction‑associated steatohepatitis (MASH), a serious liver disease that can progress to cirrhosis, liver failure, need for liver transplantation and premature mortality. Every member of our Madrigal team is connected by our shared purpose: leading the fight against MASH.

Madrigal’s medication, Rezdiffra (resmetirom), is a once‑daily, oral, liver‑directed THR‑β agonist designed to target key underlying causes of MASH. Rezdiffra is the first and only medication approved by both the FDA and European Commission for the treatment of MASH with moderate to advanced fibrosis (F2 to F3). An ongoing Phase 3 outcomes trial is evaluating Rezdiffra for the treatment of compensated MASH cirrhosis (F4c).

Our success is driven by our people. We are building a dynamic, inclusive, and high‑performing culture that values scientific excellence, operational rigor, and collaboration.

The Executive Administrative Assistant provides high‑level, strategic administrative and operational support to the Executive Vice President, Technical Operations and the Technical Operations leadership team. This role serves as a trusted partner to their executive leaders, ensuring seamless operational execution, proactive prioritization, and exceptional coordination across Quality, Supply Chain and CMC, and cross‑collaboration with all other departments.

This role is highly visible and requires executive presence, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to anticipate needs in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented biotech environment. The ideal candidate operates with a strategic mindset, demonstrates exceptional organizational agility, and thrives in managing complex, shifting priorities while maintaining absolute confidentiality.

The position is based in the Waltham, MA office and requires onsite presence at least three days per week.

  • Coordinate and proactively monitor end‑to‑end executive travel, providing real‑time support to resolve delays, disruptions, or logistical challenges while minimizing impact to executive schedules.
  • Develop detailed travel itineraries and contingency plans aligned with executive priorities and business needs.
  • Manage and reconcile executive expenses with accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to company policies and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate leadership team meetings, agendas, and follow‑up on key actions and deliverables.
  • Provide high‑level administrative and operational support critical to leadership effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain efficient systems for information, documents, and workflows.
  • Lead or support cross‑functional projects and operational initiatives.
  • Partner with and support the broader administrative team to ensure continuity and coverage.
  • Serve as a mentor and informal leader to the broader administrative staff.
  • Handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
Desired Qualifications
