This is a stand‑alone position who provides support to the Chief Nuclear Officer. Exercises confidentiality, tact and diplomacy. Uses business software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office products) to prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas, minutes, etc.; may prepare responses to routine correspondence and inquiries. Receives, screens and directs incoming calls, visitors, mail and e‑mail. Maintains files, records, calendars and diaries; typically arranges business travel, coordinates meeting arrangements, and tracks expenses. Completes work with a limited degree of supervision; serves in a non‑exempt capacity.
It is the responsibility of the Executive Assistant to proactively manage the time and support the work effectiveness of the senior leadership team. This position anticipates the needs of the executive(s) and based on knowledge of the leader’s mode of operation and individual preferences, coordinates, researches, compiles, and organizes any work necessary to meet those needs. Incumbents may exercise considerable judgment and discretion in the performance of their duties. This position requires a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality, organizational, time management skills, knowledge of the enterprise, verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
Specific duties are as follows:
Basic / Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of work‑related experience or High School diploma/ GED and at least 10 plus years of related administrative support experience.
The incumbent will primarily be based in Charlotte but could require occasional travel to other sites.
Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees must live within a reasonable commute to their designated Duke Energy facility, not greater than 50 miles one way. Employees are expected to report to their assigned Duke Energy facility as required and directed by their manager, on average 3 full workdays per regular workweek.
