Job description

About Rainmaker

Across the United States, more than 80 million people suffer from drought. Essential systems that sustain life—drinking water, food production, and power generation—are under strain, threatening the security and resilience of our communities. Rainmaker's mission is to use proven, dependable technologies to fight water scarcity. In doing so, we secure not only our own future but also the beauty and abundance of our natural world.

About the Role

This is not a traditional Executive Assistant position.

You'll work directly with Rainmaker's Founder & CEO, helping manage his time, communications, travel, and day-to-day operations. The pace is fast, expectations are high, and priorities change quickly. You'll work across every part of the company, from engineering and recruiting to government affairs, fundraising, and customer engagements. You'll frequently interact with senior executives, investors, and government officials, and you'll always travel alongside the CEO to support meetings and company initiatives.

This role is best suited for someone early in their career who wants an unusually close view of how an ambitious startup is built and is excited to take on significant responsibility from day one.

What You’ll Do
  • Travel alongside the CEO for meetings, government engagements, conferences, and offsites.
  • Own the CEO's calendar and email ensuring time is allocated to the highest-impact priorities.
  • Prepare meeting materials, agendas, and background research ahead of important conversations.
  • Coordinate communication between internal teams, customers, investors, and government stakeholders.
  • Execute special projects that range from strategic initiatives to whatever needs to get done that day.
  • Coordinate complex domestic and international travel, often on short notice.
Required Qualifications
  • Willingness and capability to travel domestically and internationally up to 70% the time, including occasional short-notice travel.
  • Ability to effectively and professionally interface with high level executives, clients, employees and business associates both internal and external.
  • Experience with domestic and international travel coordination.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. Proven experience in multi-tasking and working with multiple people and priorities.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous internship or 1–2 years of experience in the Federal government (e.g. Congress, Executive Office of the President, federal agencies, Department of Defense, or national laboratories), management consulting, venture capital, investment banking, or other high-performance environments.
  • Experience supporting senior executives, founders, or high-performing teams.
  • Previous startup experience or demonstrated interest in building early-stage companies.
  • Exceptional written communication skills and the ability to draft executive correspondence with minimal direction.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Equity grant with meaningful upside as an early employee.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with employer matching.
  • Relocation assistance, if applicable.
  • Unlimited PTO.
  • Daily lunch provided when working from our El Segundo headquarters.
  • Front-row seat to building one of the world's leading weather modification companies.
