POSITION OVERVIEW

The Risk Management practice supports clients across the power and utilities sector as they address energy transition, climate risk, resilience, infrastructure investment, energy analytics, and digitalization.

We are hiring an Executive Advisor with extensive utility industry experience to lead client delivery and contribute to practice growth. The role includes shaping SOWs and RFPs, developing delivery methodologies, mentoring consultants, and ensuring strong execution across engagements.

The team assesses risks related to climate impacts, regulatory shifts, extreme weather, and aging infrastructure. Using data analytics, they evaluate grid performance, renewable integration, and climate‑related vulnerabilities while partnering with technical teams to strengthen system reliability and resilience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Delivery and Project Leadership
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of projects on time, on budget, and within scope.
  • Work cross-functionally with Asset Management, Investment Planning, and Software teams to deliver integrated solutions to clients.
  • Translate client goals into clear objectives, scope, timelines, risk mitigation plans, and measurable performance metrics; govern execution to plan.
  • Drive work management process improvements, risk model development, and organizational change management with a focus on adoption and outcomes.
  • Develop organizational and asset plan decision frameworks, conduct evaluations and audits/benchmarking.
  • Lead the development of advanced data & analytics solutions for energy delivery, renewable energy adoption, and climate mitigation and adaptation strategies for clients in power and utilities industry.
Practice Development and Methodology
  • Develop Risk Management delivery playbooks, templates, and standards for discovery, solution design, change management, testing, cutover, and post-implementation support.
  • Codify decision frameworks, system/process workflows, and continuous improvement methods aligned to Danovo Energy Solutions’ utility expertise.
  • Establish governance mechanisms and GRC alignment for complex, multi-stakeholder programs.
RFPs, SOWs, and GTM Materials
  • Own and contribute to RFP responses: solution approach, delivery methodology, resourcing, assumptions, and pricing in partnership with account executives and business development managers.
  • Create GTM assets, including capability decks, case studies, solution one-pagers, and thought leadership aligned to business area offerings and utility market needs.
  • Support pursuits by running discovery workshops, building roadmaps, and presenting to executive stakeholders.
  • Develop contacts to generate projects.
  • Leverage Danovo Energy Solutions synergies and resources
  • Present individual and overall Danovo Energy Solutions competencies and offerings to customers
Portfolio, Financials, and Quality
  • Manage a portfolio of engagements; track scope, margin, staffing, risks, and dependencies; institute remediation plans proactively.
  • Ensure quality assurance through stage-gates, peer reviews, and metrics-based performance reporting.
People Leadership and Talent Development
  • Manage, coach, and grow consultants and analysts; drive skills development across integration, data, OCM, and utility domain knowledge.
  • Participate in hiring and onboarding; define role expectations, career paths, and performance feedback rhythms.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and analysts in the team, providing technical leadership and promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
Stakeholder and Change Leadership
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to client sponsors and cross-functional leaders; facilitate alignment across IT, operations, and field teams.
  • Design and execute change management plans, training, and communications to drive adoption and measurable behavior change.
Thought Leadership and Market Sensing
  • Monitor utility industry trends, regulatory dynamics, and platform ecosystems; translate insights into service offerings and GTM messaging.
  • Represent Danovo Energy Solutions at industry events and forums; contribute to blogs/webinars on work/asset management, data modernization, and rate cases, as appropriate.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development responsibilities include identifying and helping to develop strategic revenue-generating relationships with existing or potential customers. After an initial adjustment period, Advisors typically will perform Business Development activities assisting others in this area. Achievement of Business Development activities which result in being able to support one’s self in billable work.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

TRAVEL

The ideal candidate is willing and able to travel to client locations and industry meetings, typically up to 50% depending on the assignment

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years in the utility industry, including several years in a leadership role overseeing multi‑workstream programs or complex system initiatives.
  • Experience supporting business transformation initiatives.
  • Proven ability to contribute to RFPs and SOWs, including solution design, estimation, staffing, and proposal development.

SKILLS & SYSTEMS

  • Strong GTM enablement and executive‑ready communication skills.
  • Expertise in project governance, risk management, financial oversight, and quality assurance.
  • People leadership experience with demonstrated ability to develop high‑performing teams.
  • Strong facilitation, executive presence, and stakeholder alignment capabilities.
  • Proficiency in structured problem‑solving and data‑driven decision making.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Utility sector depth: regulated utility experience; familiarity with field operations, asset and work management, and compliance-driven environments.
  • Active in power society technical working groups
