Position Overview

This position is for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with an innovative attitude to work in the Engineering department at Wilton Factory. The candidate will collaborate with cross-sector teams to develop new manufacturing processes for new product introduction and improve existing processes for volume production. The role also includes mentoring the broader production engineering team.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field with 6+ years of manufacturing or production experience.
• Master's Degree in an engineering field with 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Driving the industrialization of our systems with a cross-sector approach for design and maturity.
2. Contributing to system-level KPIs such as availability, reliability, cycle time, and costs.
3. Leading and mentoring junior module production engineers.
4. Supporting in-production issues escalated by FLS with troubleshooting and action plans.
5. Assisting in designing engineering solutions and validation processes to realize design briefs.
6. Driving process improvement initiatives and cycle time reduction.
7. Reviewing failure analysis reports from suppliers and validating root causes.
8. Interfacing with internal and external customers for module failure analysis and corrective actions.
9. Troubleshooting electro-mechanical tools and managing technical uncertainties at a sub-module level.
10. Developing creative solutions to uncertainties in production.
11. Owning customer problems and devising solutions.
12. Developing technical concepts, including material choices and design architecture.
13. Preparing high-level sub-module designs, addressing architectural and interface considerations.
14. Integrating sub-systems, executing configuration management, and supporting projects.
15. Verifying design specifications and contributing to testing processes.

Other Information

The physical demands include working in a cleanroom environment with full gowning, around lasers, chemicals, and on platforms, with occasional lifting up to 20 pounds and travel depending on company needs. The environment is moderate in temperature and noise level.

This position requires access to controlled technology under US export regulations; candidates must be legally authorized to access such technology.
