Job summary

BASIS Prescott is seeking qualified candidates for an Exceptional Student Services Assistant to join our bright, passionate team. This role supports special education, 504, and EL programs at the school site, maintaining communication with parents and staff while providing paraprofessional support for individual students.

Responsibilities include assisting with IEPs/504 plans, coordinating with the ESS Coordinator, and performing clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card or acceptable background check required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Preferred: paraprofessional exam CPI or TACT-2.
• Preferred: 1+ year experience in related special education duties.

Responsibilities

• Plan implementation with special educational needs in general education settings (classrooms, halls, lunchrooms, playgrounds).
• Provide paraprofessional or one-on-one support to individual students as needed.
• Assist ESS Coordinator with implementing IEPs and 504 plans.
• Collaborate with ESS Coordinator and support teaching staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of student records and progress information.
• Perform administrative and clerical tasks for ESS coordination.
• Maintain regular, full, predictable attendance.
• Supervise individual students or groups of students.
• Reinforce and reteach concepts introduced by teachers.
• Provide instructional interventions and academic support to students or small groups.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

The role of the Exceptional Student Services Assistant is to assist in all aspects of Special Education, 504, and EL Programs at the school’s site. Exceptional Student Services Assistants help maintain communication channels with parents, peers, and supervisors regarding all ESS items and provide paraprofessional support for individual students.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card and/or satisfactory applicable state background check.
• Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Passing score on applicable paraprofessional exam, CPI or TACT-2
• 1+ years with related special education job duties in a similar-sized school

Primary Job Responsibilities:
