In this role, you’ll provide individualized and small-group instruction designed around student needs and IEP goals. You’ll adapt curriculum and classroom materials, monitor academic progress, and use student data to adjust instructional strategies. Collaboration will be an important part of the position as you work with general education teachers, related service providers, school staff, and families.

As the Special Education Teacher, you will provide individualized and small-group instruction aligned with student needs and IEP goals, adapt lessons, assignments, assessments, and classroom materials, and monitor progress to guide instruction. Responsibilities also include developing and maintaining IEPs, supporting positive classroom behavior and engagement, collaborating with general education teachers and related service providers, communicating with families and school teams, participating in IEP and multidisciplinary meetings, and maintaining accurate student records and special education documentation.

Requirements

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and hold a valid Indiana Special Education teaching license or appropriate eligibility for Indiana licensure. Strong communication, organization, classroom management, and collaboration skills are important for success in this role. Previous special education or school-based teaching experience is preferred.
