Job summary

Reports to the Director of Accountability and Exceptional Children/Principal; 10-month, annual position with pay grade 55, non-exempt. Responsibilities include assisting with feeding, toileting, behavior management, data collection, and collaboration with teachers to provide an effective learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Serves as helper/caregiver to accommodate the comfort/needs of the assigned student.
• Collaborates with the student’s teachers to provide an effective classroom learning environment.
• Provides individualized instruction/directions to the students.
• Demonstrates instructional activities to assist the student’s comprehension and ability to access the curriculum.
• Keeps student on task.
• Praises and reinforces achievement of the student.
• Assists in data collection and reports student progress to teacher.
• Assists with management of student behavior.
• Monitors buses for students in need of Specialized Transportation as needed.
