Job summary

Lee County Schools Floyd L. Knight - Sanford, NC seeks an Exceptional Children Assistant/Bus Driver to support classroom instruction and transport students on assigned routes.

Immediate start with strong safety awareness and student management skills. Qualified candidates hold a high school diploma or equivalent, meet No Child Left Behind provisions (associate degree or 48 college hours or equivalent staff development/work keys), and possess a valid CDL with passenger endorsement and proper Bus

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• NCLB qualifications or higher education credits required.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record; CDL with passenger endorsement and current Bus Driver Pocket Card.

Responsibilities

• Operates school bus on established routes and transports students.
• Provides instruction and monitors students as directed by teacher.
• Maintains order and discipline according to policy; ensures student safety on bus and at stops.
• Reports student progress and behavior to the teacher or principal.
• Keeps bus clean and performs routine safety checks and data recording.
