Job summary

Lee County Schools Tramway Elementary in Sanford, NC is seeking an Instructional Assistant/Bus Driver to support teachers and transport students on established routes. The role requires a strong focus on safety, classroom assistance and effective communication with staff, students and parents.

Starting immediately, the position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license and a CDL with passenger bus endorsement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of No Child Left Behind qualifications: Associate’s Degree, or 48 semester hours, or completion of Work Keys tests plus 96 hours staff development.
• Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record and CDL with passenger school bus endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Gives group instruction as prescribed by teacher.
• Provides individualized instruction.
• Monitors work and checks progress.
• Maintains discipline and safety on the bus and in the classroom.
• Records student data and progress for teachers and administrators.
